Privacy Policy
This page describes our current practices and will be reviewed by counsel before launch.
We collect the minimum needed to quote and manufacture a part, and we tell you what happens to it afterwards. This policy covers this website, the quote form and the files you send us.
1. Who we are
SolveProto is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@solveproto.com for any question about this policy or about a specific file.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, email address, company, country and any phone or WhatsApp number you provide.
- Technical files: drawings, 3D models, specifications, photographs and any notes you attach to a quote request or an order.
- Commercial records: quotes, purchase orders, shipping addresses, invoices and correspondence about the job.
Information collected automatically
- Pages visited, referring page, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type.
- Form submission timestamps and error logs used to keep the site working.
3. Why we use it
- To quote and deliver your order. Legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken before entering one.
- To answer technical questions and provide DFM advice. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry.
- To issue invoices, shipping documents and inspection records. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- To improve the site and measure which pages are useful. Legal basis: consent where analytics cookies are used, otherwise legitimate interest.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your drawings to train models or for any purpose other than your project.
4. How long we keep files
Uploaded drawings and technical files are deleted automatically 90 days after the project closes. A project closes when the order is delivered and the warranty period ends, or when the quote is declined. You can ask us to delete a file earlier, at any point, by writing to hello@solveproto.com; we confirm deletion by email, normally within two working days.
Commercial records such as invoices and shipping documents are kept for the period required by accounting and tax law, even after the technical files have been removed.
5. Who can see your data
- Our project team. The engineer and commercial contact handling your job. Both are under a written confidentiality obligation.
- The partner factory making the part. Only the data required to manufacture it, only for that order, and only after an NDA is in place. Partner factories are bound by the same confidentiality terms.
- Service providers. Hosting, file storage, email and analytics providers that process data on our instructions under a data processing agreement.
We do not share drawings with other customers, other factories or for comparison quoting.
6. Third-party processors
We use providers in four categories: website hosting and content delivery, file storage for drawings, business email, and web analytics. Each is selected for a documented security posture and processes data only on our written instructions. A current list of processors can be requested at the contact address above.
7. Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies that are necessary to serve pages and remember basic preferences. Where analytics is enabled — Google Analytics 4 — it is used to understand which pages engineers read and which forms are completed, with IP anonymisation enabled. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent where the law requires it, and you can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.
Blocking non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to request a quote.
8. International transfers
Our team and partner factories operate in China. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, transfers of personal data to us are covered by appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required. Technical files are transferred for the purpose of manufacturing your order only.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate data, or complete data that is incomplete;
- request deletion of your data and your files;
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent for analytics at any time;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@solveproto.com. We respond within one month and may ask for information to verify your identity before releasing files.
10. Security
Files are stored on access-controlled storage, shared with the partner factory through a controlled link rather than an open attachment, and removed on the schedule described above. Access is limited to the people named in section 5. If a breach affects your data, we notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
11. Changes to this policy
If the way we handle data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top is revised. Material changes affecting an active order are communicated by email.
